Wow - I've been gone for a long time! Circumstances kept me away from my craft table and computer, and then I hit a creative dry spell which extended my absence. I have crafted a bit, and have some projects to catch you up on. I even spent some time learning a new craft, and maybe I'll share bits of that with you, too - so stay tuned!
I'll start out with some cards from a class I taught at a weekend scrapboook crop that I ran with some other Stampin' Up! demonstrators this past weekend in New Jersey. If you'd like to learn more about upcoming weekend crops in New Jersey, let me know! This class featured patterned paper from the Sweet Pea Paper Stack and the Sweet Pea stitched Felt Flowers.
Class attendees made eight cards - 2 each of 4 designs. I shared the class with another demonstrator and today I'm sharing the cards I designed for the class. The 2 cards above are basically the same card, with slight changes in the paper and flowers used. On the 1st card, I layered a Rose Red 5 Petal Flower punch behind the light pink felt flower to make it a little more substantial. The 2nd card features the "Kisses" die-cut note cards available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. These little notes are the perfect size for the Whimsical Words stamp set (Sale-A-Bration freebie!). Since these two cards are so similar, they counted as "one" of my cards - I just wanted to give everyone a variety of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt flowers to play with.
Here's the second card of my design that we made:
This card features one of my favorite papers from the Sweet Pea Paper Stack. This great (thick) pad of paper has some amazing patterned papers. I love that there's so much paper using the same set of colors - makes for some great combinations!
The bird & sentiment are from the Sweatheart set (this is the stamp set that corresponds with the heart-shaped Sweet Treats cups and the heart punch - but it's not just for Valentine's Day!). The bird was colored with Old Olive & So Saffron markers directly on the stamp, which was then applied to the paper. The scalloped square behind the bird was made with the new Scallop Trim Corner punch from the Occasions catalog. If you start with a 2" square, you can do this entirely with the corner punch. I learned this great tip from a video on Stampin' Up!'s You Tube channel - here's a link to SU's Corner & Border Punch Video. Check it out and get busy punching!
Since I haven't been blogging for a while, everything's a bit out of date. I'll update my mini catalog links over the next few days. In the meantime, if you'd like to receive a Sale-A-Bration catalog (good thru March 31) or the Occasions catalog (thru April 30), let me know. In my next post, I'll share the other two cards from this fun class, so be sure to check back soon.

Stunning cards - I didn't like the felt flowers when I saw them in the catalogue, but you make them look wonderful. Great cards!
