Another quick post for today - I decided at the last minute to participate in the Color Challenge (CC227) over at Splitcoaststampers.com. I rushed to get it done while I still had good lighting to take a photo, and here it is!
The challenge was to use Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Going Gray, Basic Black and Whisper White. I didn't incorporate the Gray, but I got all of the other colors. I love the stained glass look I was able to get with the new Lattice Bigz die (#115958, $21.95) for the Big Shot. It's another die that's available exclusively through Stampin' Up! I just knew I'd love using this as soon as I saw it!
I got the effect of stained glass by cutting black and lavender paper with the Lattice die. I then used just the little diamond shapes from the lavender paper. These would have ended up in the trash normally! Now I've got a nice Lavender Lace Lattice shape to use another time (sounds like there's a tongue twister in there)!
Flower image is from the Greenhouse Garden set - I posted a card with this set earlier today. It's a two-step stamping set. I stamped the main flower image with Lavender Lace ink that had been stamped off (Stamping Off - a technique where you ink up a stamp, stamp it on a scrap paper, and then on your main image paper for a lighter look). I then stamped the 'outline' image in full strength Lavender Lace. Cut it out carefully and popped it up on a dimensional.
The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.
Recipe (all supplies Stampin' Up!; images copyright Stampin' Up! 1990-2009):

Great card and I love how you made it look like stained glass. I just used this die and I knew there had to be a way to use those little cut out pieces!!!
